Veteran Nollywood actor, Richard Mofe Damijo has expressed concern over the recent attack on a church in Eruku, Kwara State.

Reports indicate that suspected armed assailants disrupted the ceremony and abducted several worshipers.

RMD posted on Instagram that the escalating violence in Nigeria is a national tragedy that cannot be ignored. He noted that the Kwara incident came days after 25 schoolgirls were abducted and a school vice-principal was killed.

For the actors, these incidents were not isolated news stories but signs of a country slowly losing its moral and human compass.

    He wrote:

“What happened in Kwara is traumatizing to our collective soul. Innocent people who came together peacefully were subjected to violence that they did not deserve.”

The RMD questions why citizens attending peaceful worship services should live in fear and stresses that families should never bury their loved ones simply to practice their faith.

He also commended Pastor Ezekiel Dajomo for his courage in publicly highlighting the growing insecurity, saying his warning could no longer be ignored.

The actor stressed that Nigeria could no longer rely on “silence, evasive statements and endless committees” as lives continued to be lost.

@solu.mide79: “We need the biggest protest, everyone in Nigeria should come out”

@kennypraise_focal: “To my fellow Nigerians 🇳🇬, we need to wake up and take responsibility before our government completely destroys this country. Over the past few months, kidnapping, banditry and genocide have become rampant. Killings and kidnappings are now commonplace in Nigeria and this should never be the case.”

@jmapelle_em: “If leaders are around you, take a back seat until they get their job done, after all that’s what they do to families who teach their children to be pregnant or alcoholic. No more shame, no more empty glory. Tell them to withdraw and refuse to pay their tithes. People are watching.”

@royalpushunush: “Lord I’m not crying but Nigeria needs quick intervention”
