- IPOB leader Kanu strongly opposed the verdict.
- The court was thrown into chaos after several motions filed by Kanu were denied.

Tension prevailed at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday as IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu strongly resisted the verdict in his terrorism case.
The court was thrown into chaos after it denied several of Kanu’s motions, including his request to submit a final written submission.
At a previous hearing, Justice James Omotosho waived the need for a final written submission, saying the court would base its decision solely on the arguments and evidence that had been presented.
Kanu was furious, claiming the ruling prevented him from fully presenting his case.
The situation became more serious when the judge reminded him of his right to appeal the court’s decision. Kanu exploded, shouting: “You don’t know the law… don’t touch me… God will punish you now and forever.”
His outburst disrupted proceedings and forced the court to pause. Judge Motosho and security personnel tried to calm him down, but failed and Kanu was eventually removed from the courtroom by security personnel to restore order.
The incident has sparked renewed debate over the conduct of Nigeria’s courts and the management of high-profile terrorism trials.
