Businessman and socialite The Cuban chief appears to have reversed his strong rhetoric on the detention of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu following an extensive phone conversation with House of Representatives Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu.

Cuba’s chief cleric, who previously published an open letter to President Tinubu linking the marginalization of the southeast to Kanu’s prolonged detention, shared a screenshot of a group call with Ben Kalu that lasted more than 42 minutes.

In a caption accompanying the image, the businessman said he had renewed hopes for Kanu’s release and said the deputy speaker was now actively involved in the matter.

    Cuba’s chief pastor writes:

“I have been with the Deputy Speaker for over 42 minutes and he has presented to me all hope and hope that MNK will be free because now the President can take action in court on the Don Comote case. The Deputy Speaker is not a weak man, as I said before he is a man of action, it is just that they have failed to present to us that the people support ensuring MNK The process of release. All hope is not lost @officialasiwajubat your votes are set, come and see your delegation please listen to them sir, do your 8 years as long as you help us get MNK back to us and let this thing die on its own. We need to rise again since his detention in South East failed, let me go to Onye. Ndu Ndi Igbo MNK one on one.”

The statement marked a significant shift, as the businessman not only expressed new trust in the government’s efforts, but also softened his tone on Tinubu’s government, even confirming that the president’s “votes are secure.”

He concluded by confirming that this conversation helped him quickly get the opportunity to visit Kanu.
