    • Yvonne Jegede has shared a series of emotional videos on Instagram in which she cries over the worsening insecurity and violence in Nigeria.
    • She lamented the country’s decline, saying “the African giant has fallen and turned into an ant.”
    • The actress made an emotional plea to the president to intervene and stop the killings, questioning why leaders lack compassion even as the economy and society suffer.

Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has shared a series of emotional Instagram Stories expressing her deep fear, frustration and exhaustion over the recent spike in violence and insecurity in Nigeria.

In the video, the actress cries while reacting to the difficult situation in the country. Lamenting the country’s decline, she wrote:

“That’s the way African giantsHe fell down and turned into an ant. “

Yegede questioned the leader’s silence and made a direct, emotional plea for the president’s urgent intervention:

“Could the president step in and, to redeem himself from shame, demand that they at least stop the killing until the end of his term? Isn’t economic and social suffering alone enough to sympathize with you the people? Doesn’t anyone sympathize?”

She expressed her deep fatigue in her closing words:

    “I’m tired. I’m tired.”

In the caption of the tearful video, she urged citizens to unite:

“My heart is broken…we are the only ones left so we must stand up for each other. #NigeriaIsBleeding”
