    • The Abia State Government has sealed the Umuahia campaign office belonging to the Renaissance Hope Partners (RHP), the campaign group of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
    • A notice issued by the Ministry of Lands and Housing stated that the premises were sealed for violation of Sections 41 and 100 of the Abia State Tax Code.
    • The move locked out workers and fueled speculation over the office’s high-profile political ties to House Deputy Speaker Hon. Benjamin Kalu.

The Abia State Government has seized a campaign office in Umuahia linked to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s campaign group, Renaissance Hope Partners (RHP).

The affected office is President Tinubu’s regional campaign arm in the South East, reportedly headed by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, His Excellency. Benjamin Kalu.

Workers were surprised to find the office on Prince’s Street had been cordoned off without prior notice. A notice posted at the entrance by the Ministry of Lands and Housing said the act was a violation of Abia State tax laws.

The official statement of the notification is as follows:

“The property is in violation of Sections 41 and 100 of the Abia State Tax Laws (Codification and Consolidation) Act No. 7 of 2020. It is hereby sealed. Any person, including the owner/occupier, neighbor or passerby, who attempts to unseal the building is in violation of the Abia State Tax Laws No. 7 of 2020. Please note. Keep it closed.”

In other news… Armed criminals have attacked Sundu and Biresawa villages in Tsanyawa Local Government Area of Kano State, abducting several women and girls in late-night raids, fueling fears among residents of border communities.

The two villages are located along the Katsina-Kano border, a route increasingly targeted by bandits despite the recent peace agreement signed by the Ingawa, Kankiya and Kusada local administrations in Katsina State.

Security analyst Bakatsine shared the news on

“Last night, armed bandits attacked Sundu and Biresawa villages in Tsanyawa LGA of Kano State and abducted several women and girls. These communities are located along corridors often exploited by criminal gangs,” Bakkhachin reports.

He questioned the impact of the peace agreement, asking whether it had actually improved security or simply moved violence from one region of the northwest to another.

So far, security agencies have not released official information about the attack.
