- FNiger Delta militant General Asabuga has publicly responded to critics who petitioned security agencies after a video showing him showing off a rifle went viral.
- He questioned why he was specifically targeted and asked Nigerians to petition bandits and armed groups operating in other areas as well.
- He ironically announced that he would change his identity to Fulani to secure immunity, emphasizing his belief in selective justice for armed men based on their origins.

Former Niger Delta militant leader General Asabuga has given a defiant response to critics who petitioned security agencies after a video of him showing off a rifle surfaced online. Asabuja questioned why he was singled out when other armed groups reportedly acted without consequences.
In the widely seen video, the former militant challenged his critics, insisting that they should also petition bandits and armed groups operating in other parts of the country.
He questioned selective enforcement:
“Do we petition me? Do we petition General Asabuja? He showed the gun, he showed the rifle. Now petition to the Fulani. Now petition to the bandits. Why is my own different?”
He went a step further, sarcastically announcing that he would change his identity to ensure perceived immunity:
“Well, I am a Niger Delta bandit. I disagree. I am a Fulani. My dad is from Fulani and for peace to reign, my mother is from Niger Delta Rivers State. Because when the Fulani do something, they are free. The Fulani came to adopt me. I am a Fulani. God bless Nigeria.”
