President Tinubu nominates former INEC Chairman Mahmoud Yakubu, Reno Omokri, Fani-Kayode and others as ambassadors
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent the names of 32 ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for confirmation, days after he sent the first batch of three ambassadorial nominees.
In two separate letters to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, President Tinubu asked the Senate to expeditiously consider and confirm 15 career ambassador nominees and 17 non-career ambassador nominees.
There are four women on the list of professional ambassadors and six women on the list of non-professional ambassadors.
Non-career ambassador-designates include Barrister Kalu from Abia, former Presidential Assistant and former Mainland National Election Chairman Mahmoud Yakubu, former Ekiti First Lady Erelu Angela Adebayo and former Enugu Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
Others include former Speaker of Katsina House of Representatives, Tasiu Musa Maigari, Yakubu n. Gambo is a former Plateau State Commissioner and former deputy executive secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (Ubec).
Professor Nora Ladi Daduut, former senator from Plateau; Otunba Femi Pedro, former deputy governor of Lagos State; Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, former aviation minister of Osun State; Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu, a barrister from Anambra State, are also on the nomination list.
Also on the list are former Oyo First Lady Fatima Florence Ajimobi, former Lagos Commissioner Lola Akande, former Adamawa Senator Grace Bente, former Abia Governor Victor Okezie Ikpizu, Senator Jimo Ibrahim, Ondo State businessman, lawyer and senator, former Nigeria Ambassador to the Holy See, Benue State Ambassador Paul Oga Adikwu.
