    • Medical doctor Onyedika Justice has publicly responded to Nigeria’s newly announced tax reforms that will begin in 2026, which he says will result in massive deductions from his salary.
    • The doctor’s viral social media post expressed frustration but also suggested that mandatory taxation would eventually “end tribalism in Nigeria”, triggering widespread public reaction.

A medical doctor whose Facebook username is Onyedika Justice has publicly responded to the announcement of Nigeria’s new tax reforms that will take effect in 2026. Taiwo Oyedle, Chairman of the Presidential Commission on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, detailed the reforms.

The doctor posted on social media expressing shock and dismay at the huge amount he calculated would be deducted from his salary starting next year. Although the exact amount was not disclosed, Onyedika Justice linked the large deductions to the country’s social transformation:

“I just checked my taxes starting next year and I literally cried 😅😅. All this tribalism will be over next year 😂😂 Yoruba oh, Igbo oh, Hausa oh no more taxes.”

The post quickly attracted attention, with many Nigerians reacting to the tax reform. One commentator, Yusuf Olatunji, criticized the government for what it saw as a lack of transparency in existing taxes and benefits, saying:

“Taxes are levied for the very people they keep levying because what good do we do to shameless elderly government people.”

Others wrote: The woke one wrote, “Then say that Til useless Jesus Christ controls Nigeria 😂😂😂”.

Eze_Ezec added: “That’s why the ruffians keep trying to distract everyone with meaningless conversations”.

In other news… New information has emerged on why BBNaija star Mercy Atang’s marriage to her husband unexpectedly ended.

The mother-of-one hosted a glamorous wedding in 2024, with photos and videos dominating social media. Mercy also shared the affectionate clip online at the time, proudly speaking about the special role her father-in-law assigned her after the ceremony.

However, the marriage only lasted a year. Messi later confirmed the split after a curious fan asked her about it on social media.

Following her confirmation, a social media user named Hector Babe claimed to know what led to the union’s breakup. According to her, Messi’s online lifestyle may have strongly influenced the outcome of the marriage.

Hector accused the reality star of constantly dancing and showing off her curves online, questioning why a married woman would engage in such content and who she was doing it for. She added that she was relieved that King David Oyekanmi had moved on.

Other fans also weighed in on the matter. One commenter suggested that Messi may have been too caught up in the glamor of celebrity life that led to her reluctance to move abroad to live with her husband.
