    Former Lagos Deputy Governor loses only son after surgery in Dubai

    • Dr. Oluwafemi olaalalele adexual, the only son of former Deputy Governor of Lagos, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adethful, has died after undergoing surgery in Dubai.
    • The unexpected loss has left the political establishment in Lagos in mourning, with the APC describing it as a devastating tragedy. He is survived by his wife and children.

    The political circles in Lagos are in deep mourning following the tragic death of Dr. Oluwafemi Olawale Adefule, the only son of the former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefule.

    According to reports, British doctor Dr. Adefulire died in the early hours of Wednesday, December 10, 2025, after undergoing an undisclosed surgical procedure in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

    A family source confirmed the incident to Vanguard, saying the death was unexpected and devastating for the family. Deceased was survived by his wife and children.

    The development was confirmed by the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), with party spokesperson Seye Oladejo describing the incident as “the most horrific tragedy for parents”, adding that the entire party structure has been shaken.

    Princess Orelope-Adefule is a well-known figure in Lagos politics, serving as deputy governor under former governor Babatunde Fashola from 2011 to 2015. She currently serves as the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and will be reappointed in September 2023.
