The film reportedly broke Nigerian and international box office records. Akindele took to Instagram to celebrate the impressive attendance at the cinema, saying it was a testament to the power of perseverance and consistency.
Early reports indicate that “Behind the Scenes” earned over N200 million in Nigerian cinemas during its opening weekend and £42,000 in the UK and Ireland.
In a heartfelt message, the actress, who recently visited her colleague Eniola Badmus, thanked her fans for their unwavering support over the years.
She wrote:
“We’ll show up and won’t give up! Naija, that’s awesome! Thank you so much for coming to the cinema to support Behind the Scenes! We broke another record with the biggest opening of 2025!”
Akindele also expressed her gratitude to her fans in the UK and Ireland, stressing that they helped achieve what she described as the biggest Nollywood opening weekend in these regions.
“Shout out to our fans in the UK and Ireland for making this the biggest Nollywood opening weekend ever!” she added.
The actress confirmed that the film is still showing in cinemas nationwide and in selected Odeon cinemas across the UK and Ireland, encouraging audiences to continue to support the film.
