Former Big Brother Naija housemate and media personality Natacha Akinde, popularly known as Tacha, has accused content creator Lawrence Alabi of allegedly turning the arrest of upcoming creators and social media trolls into online content.
Known as “Little Ralph” (@Churlah) on 𝕏 and colloquially known as “Banger Boy,” he is known for his frequent trolling and online trolling.
The situation began after Lawrence Alabi arrested “Banger Boy” for allegedly making cyberbullying and defamatory comments against him and his wife, GistLover reported.
While many Nigerians agreed that Alabi was justified in pursuing legal action, reaction changed after a video of “Banger Boy”‘s arrest began circulating online. Some social media users expressed their displeasure, calling the incident a disgrace.
Reacting via her 𝕏 account, Tacha condemned the public handling of the arrest, stressing that while the law should be followed, public shaming is unnecessary and dangerous. She also criticized the tendency of some Nigerians to use their power or influence to oppress others once they achieve success.
She wrote:
“We are the biggest hypocrites ever. We all agree that Nigeria’s dream is to make our country good enough to oppress another Nigerian.
“You live in the UK and you know you have a billion pounds and you can’t do this.
“Prosecute the boy; I don’t care. But what you won’t do is humiliate him.
“If anyone can give me the boy’s contact details please send me a private message or leave a comment. We will get him out and the boy will still face the law. But what you won’t do is humiliate him.”
