- NAFDAC has warned Nigerians not to consume the recalled batch of Indomie Vegetable Flavored Noodles after French authorities revealed undeclared milk and egg allergens.
- The agency said the product posed a serious health risk and it had stepped up surveillance to prevent its circulation in Nigeria.

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has issued a public health alert warning Nigerians not to consume the recalled batch of Indomie Vegetable Flavor Noodles as the noodles contain undeclared allergens.
The warning comes after French food safety authority Rappel Conso issued a recall after tests showed the product contained milk and egg allergens not listed on the label, according to the agency. NAFDAC noted that this omission poses serious health risks to individuals who are allergic or intolerant to these substances.
The agency explains that undeclared allergens such as milk and eggs can trigger severe allergic reactions, including difficulty breathing and other potentially life-threatening reactions. It emphasizes that accurate product labeling is critical for consumer safety, especially for people with known food allergies.
While the federal government’s ban on pasta imports reduces the likelihood of affected products entering Nigeria, NAFDAC said the risk cannot be completely ruled out. The agency warned that such products could still enter the country through illegal imports, online shopping platforms or international travelers.
In this regard, NAFDAC has intensified surveillance and monitoring nationwide to prevent the recalled Indomie noodles from circulating in the local market. Distributors, retailers and other actors in the food supply chain are advised to remain vigilant and avoid selling or distributing affected products.
Consumers who may have purchased the recalled Indomie Vegetable Flavor Noodles are strongly advised not to consume them. NAFDAC also urges the public to report any suspicious product sales or circulation to the agency so that regulatory action can be taken promptly and public health protected.
