- A throwback video of Nigerian artist Asake visiting Ife Ooni in 2018 has gone viral on social media.
- The re-emergence of the video coincides with Asake’s recent visit to Ile-Ife, Osun State.
- Asek made headlines for arriving by helicopter at his alma mater, Obafemi Awolowo University.

A throwback video of Nigerian international artist, Ahmed Oolade, popularly known as Asak or Mr. Money, visiting Oba Enitan Adeyeye of Ooni, Isle of Ife in 2018 has resurfaced on social media following his recent return to Ile-Ife, Osun State.
Asek recently made headlines when he arrived at his alma mater, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), by helicopter and paid a courtesy visit to the Ooni Palace. He was accompanied by his mother, socialite Ihemoli, actress Lara and their entourage.
This is not Asagi’s first contact with this palace. Back in 2018, before he rose to fame, he visited with content creators Broda Shaggi and Yemi Elesho, also known as Broda Nuru. Video from that visit shows young Asaki playfully sitting on the floor near Oni, while another video captures him excitedly popping balloons.
In 2022, YBNL owner Olamide signed Asake to the label, and Asake has become famous ever since. Soon after, he began performing on the international stage, including a sold-out show at the famous O2 Arena.
Returning to Ile-Ife as a renowned artist, Assek was warmly welcomed and many, including the Oni family, proudly recognized him as the town’s illustrious son.
