Nollywood actress and film producer, Jodie Austin has shared advice to married women and single mothers, urging them to avoid overspending during the Christmas season.
On Tuesday, December 23, Austin posted a video on her social media accounts encouraging women to stop pressuring their husbands to give them extravagant gifts and to treat Christmas like just another ordinary day.
She stressed the importance of celebrating within a budget, advising women to find creative and cost-effective ways to enjoy the holidays while prioritizing contentment over luxury.
“I have an important message: If you don’t have money to go Christmas shopping, this message is for you. Please stop putting pressure on your husband. You are a single mom taking care of everyone, so stop putting pressure on yourself for Christmas. We celebrate Christmas every other year. Think of this Christmas week as a week in July; Just kill a chicken, turkey or goat. Who made this law? Don’t put pressure on your husband if you don’t have money to buy anything. This will overwork him and he will be afraid to go home. Be content with what you have” she said in part in the video.

She never knew the heat of the husband-stealing drama would destroy her to such an extent in her next world that she would never look at a married man. In fact, she would become a priest sister.”
