Entrepreneur and influencer Sofia Momodu has issued a stern warning to fans and content creators who continue to link her to her ex-partner Afrobeats star Davido by referring to her as his wife.
In a recent video broadcast, the mother of Davido’s first child, Imad, expressed her discomfort with the headline and clarified that her relationship with the singer ended years ago.
Sofia recounted a recent incident in which a content creator approached her to “tribute” her using the singer’s pseudonym, an act she felt was disrespectful of both parties’ current realities.
“I once met a content creator who started praising me as ‘Mom Imade, OBO [Davido’s] As soon as my wife saw me. I was shocked because I was not his wife. “
Sofia stressed that Davido is now married to his long-term partner Chioma and urged the public to respect marital boundaries and personal choices. She insists she has found peace in moving forward and hopes the public will do the same.
“Stop calling me Davido’s wife. Let’s respect people’s marriages and rules. If people have left, let them move on in peace. Everyone is happy and doing what they are supposed to do.”
