The death of actress Olwell Ademola has sparked a bitter confrontation between her family and the Nollywood community. After her death on December 27, 2025, her brother released a viral video accusing top industry figures of “fake love” and neglect.
The deceased’s brother specifically targeted A-list celebrities such as Iyabo Ojo and Lateef Adedimeji, questioning why they were quick to post tributes on social media because they allegedly failed to support her career during her lifetime.
“You should stop posting about my sister, you don’t know her age. She is not 43 years old, stop posting about her, you never respected her when you were alive. Rest in peace to everyone who posted, how many of you supported my sister when she was alive?… All A-list artists… You didn’t use her in cinemas, but now you are posting about her, have you promoted her movies?”
He further reminded the stars that Orwell opened her family home to many of them in their early days in the industry.
Responding to the serious accusations, actress Iyabo Ojo defended her relationship with the late producer, insisting that she was a continuing pillar of Alwell’s career and personal life.
“I was overly supportive of your sister while she was alive. As she developed her career as a producer and director, I appeared in her films countless times for free and supported her financially and emotionally as well. May her beautiful soul continue to rest in peace.”
