Wike says Tomihara will be politically buried if he wins second term

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has said Rivers Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s political career will be ruined if he is re-elected.

Speaking at a stakeholders meeting in Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State on Saturday, Wike said a decision had been made on Fubara’s second term objectives.

“As far as Tinubu is concerned, we have taken a decision. The other decision is [Fubara] – Never. Because if we make one more mistake, we will bury ourselves politically. I will not allow myself to be buried. I won’t allow mistakes like this to happen again. “ he said.

“So everyone should know we’ve made a decision.”

Wike has renewed his public attacks on Tomihara after the governor defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) last month.

The FCT minister accused Tomihara of violating the peace agreement reached before Rivers lifted the state of emergency, paving the way for his return to office.

On Tuesday, Wike said Rivers’ “leadership errors” would be corrected in 2027 and promised to reveal details of the peace deal that returned Tomihara to power.

In an allusion to Tomihara, the FCT minister said leaders should serve the will of the people rather than pursue personal interests.

“We’re not going to make the same mistake again at the state level in 2027, but we’ll talk about it then,” Wick said.

“Supporting Tinubu will not save Fubara”

Speaking on Friday while addressing stakeholders in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA of the state, Wike said Fubara’s support for Tinubu would not help him secure re-election, noting that he had supported Tinubu even before he joined the APC.

“If you do well and succeed in the first market, do you think the second market will be successful as well? There can’t be two markets in one day,” Wike said of the peace agreement signed with Fuhara.

“So, whoever assured you that once you signed the release, everything would be fine [Tinubu’s political signature song]you are wrong.

“We all decided to work for Bola Ahmed Tinubu. There was no discussion about it.

“Of course, you know we are not going to make the same mistakes we made last time. We are here to put things right. We will do everything we can to make sure we give Tinubu all the support we need.

“Someone [Fubara] People who cannot relate to local government chairpersons, state assembly members and members of the National Assembly. What kind of leadership do you want to provide? “

Wike also responded to Governor Tomihara’s New Year’s address, with the governor dismissing his recent comments as “noise.”

Wike said he appointed Tomihara governor despite his unpopularity among the people.
