    • The DPO of the GRA Police Station in Asaba has been removed from office and sanctioned after a Nigerian man accused him of trying to frame him for murder despite behaving like a good Samaritan.
    • The Delta State Police Command confirmed the sanction and refunded the money allegedly extorted from the victims.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of GRA Police Station, Asaba, Delta State, has been removed from duty and sanctioned for alleged misconduct involving a Good Samaritan.

Nigerian man Tomi Wojuola earlier shared his ordeal on social media, claiming he was almost framed for murder after trying to help a dying man. According to Voyula, he took a man who had fallen on the road to a nearby hospital, where the victim was later confirmed dead.

Voyula said he then went to the police station to file a formal report on the incident. However, in the process, the DPO allegedly accused him of murder and threatened him. He added that only divine intervention could save him from further trouble.

Reacting to the incident via X (formerly Twitter), the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed that the DPO had been sanctioned and removed from office. He also revealed that the money allegedly extorted from Voyola has been returned in full.
