Wike Media aide mocks Governor Tomihara, shares old video of him kneeling after 2023 election

    • The Media Assistant to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has shared a throwback video of Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara kneeling down to thank Wike after winning the 2023 election.
    • The post, which comes amid their ongoing feud, sparked mixed reactions, with some mocking Fubara and others defending his right to part ways with Wike politically.

The ongoing political rift between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has taken a new twist following a social media post by Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka.

Lere shared a throwback video showing Governor Fubara on his knees thanking Wike shortly after he was declared the winner of the 2023 Rivers State governorship election. The video, which has resurfaced amid renewed tensions between former allies, shows Tomihara thanking Vick, who at the time was widely considered his political benefactor and designated candidate.

The video comes as the political feud between the two men continues to dominate public discussion, especially in Rivers State. Many observers believed the article was intended to mock Governor Tomihara and highlight his past loyalty to Wike.

The resurfaced video sparked a backlash online. While some social media users mocked Governor Fubara, arguing that the video exposed his previous reliance on Wike, others defended the governor’s right to maintain his independence while in office.

Tomihara’s supporters point out that the political fallout is not unusual, noting that Wike himself has previously parted ways with allies who once played a key role in his political rise. They argue that kneeling in gratitude after an election victory does not permanently bind a leader to politics.
