The Sir James McNeil Postgraduate Research Scholarship 2023-2024 is a fully funded scholarship for international students. This scholarship is offered for Master’s and PhD studies. The scholarship includes an annual living stipend: $36,800, a relocation stipend: $550, and an annual research stipend: $1,500.
The Sir James McNeill Postgraduate Research Scholarship (SJMN) is funded by a private trust and was established in memory of the late Sir James McNeill, who had a long-standing association with Monash University.

Eligibility criteria for the Sir James McNeill Postgraduate Research Scholarship
To be eligible for the Sir James McNeil Postgraduate Research Scholarship, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Required language: English.
- General English language test requirements: IELTS overall score (6.5) (no individual component less than 6.0), TOEFL reading 13 points, listening 12 points, speaking 18 points and writing 21 points (79+).
- English language test requirements for arts, business and economics: IELTS overall score (7) (no single subject less than 6.5), TOEFL reading 19 points, listening 20 points, speaking 20 points and writing 24 points (94 points or above).

- Have not previously received an Australian Government or Monash funded postgraduate research award for more than six months.
- The scholarship application has been submitted that year.
- Conduct research that is both environmentally responsible and socially beneficial.
