A video showing Nigerian singer Habeed Okikiola, popularly known as “Portable”, being taken to prison in a security vehicle has gone viral.

Potep appeared before the Federal High Court in Ota, Ogun State on Monday to face nine criminal charges filed by the police. His arraignment following complaints against him attracted widespread public attention.

Spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command, Oluseyi Babasei, said the charges against Potbull include assault, theft, causing hurt and resisting arrest. The charges stem from an investigation into violence involving the singer.

The viral video, which captured Portbull being transported to jail after appearing in court, sparked reactions on social media platforms.

Authorities say Purport attacked his trapped partner, Ashabi Simple, as well as several police officers and others at his bar on New Year’s Day. Other individuals named in the case include mi damilola, angyanju oluwabusay, our, Olowu oluumide, Demilade Ogunniyi and Ebuka Odah.

Portable was also accused of stealing a Mercedes-Benz E300 worth N12 million, reportedly owned by Ileyemi Damilola and purchased from Wally Dex Auto. In addition, police said he obstructed and assaulted a female police officer, Ogungbe Olayemi, while she was performing her official duties.

The presiding judge refused him bail, saying the police officer accused of the attack must appear in court before bail could be considered. Portbull was subsequently remanded in custody and later transferred to prison.
