Controversial Nigerian cross-dresser Bobrisky, whose real name is Idris Okuneye, has sparked online discussion after sharing his thoughts on football.

Her post came shortly after Nigeria’s Super Eagles lost to Morocco at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025), a result that sparked reactions from many celebrities across the country.

While several expressed disappointment with the team’s performance, Bobrisky took a different approach, mocking the sport itself. She revealed she had never been a football fan and linked her lack of interest to her identity as a woman.

Bobrisky said on her Instagram Story that she doesn’t understand what people like about the game. She describes herself as too girly to sit back and watch men scream for goals during games. She added that football did not suit her lifestyle and personality, stressing that she is actually a girl.

    In her own words:

“I’ve never been a football fan… I don’t know what you like about football. I’m too girly to sit down and watch grown men shouting goals llllllll 🤣

    I’m really a girl 🤣“.

For Bobrisky, the excitement that comes with Nigerian football is something she can never appreciate, especially when men gather together to cheer.

Her statement comes as football becomes a national topic following the Super Eagles’ defeat at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Many Nigerians shared their thoughts on the game, but Bobrisky’s post stood out because she completely dismissed the sport instead of focusing on her team’s loss.

The remarks quickly attracted attention online and caused a strong response. Some social media users criticized her for overshadowing a sport loved by millions of Nigerians, while others defended her right to personal preference.

@papi_demillie: “Imagine trying to cover up people’s passion for a sport is another level of stupidity.”

@whaIe_io: “How manly can you be every time you want everyone to know you’re a girl.”

@CashezMazz: “This guy just wants to be everywhere lol…we don’t have sabi you anymore…no one can get your time again.”

@Emmyzy47: “Stop hating or criticizing people for who they choose to be. We all have different interests and passions, and what you don’t like may be someone else’s favorite thing.”

@ObioFred79926: “But when they arrested you, in the process of filling out your report at the detention center, you filled in “Male” Bobrisky Idris, shame on you and didn’t catch you at all?”

@_iamAdemola_D: “Yes you are not a football fan but that has nothing to do with gender bias, of course you are a man dressed as a woman. Can you tell the world your real name?”
