‘Disrespectful and misleading’ – Pastor Adeboyega slams comedian Druski for mocking megachurch pastor

    • British-Nigerian pastor Tobi Adegboyega has sparked controversy after he criticized comedian Druski for a skit mocking megachurch pastors.
    • Adeboyega, the founder of Salvation Preachers Anointed Church (SPAC Nation), believes this characterization is disrespectful and unfair.
    • He emphasized that churches contribute a lot to society, often more than artists.

British-Nigerian pastor Tobi Adegboyega has criticized a viral skit by American comedian Druski that mocked megachurch pastors for allegedly pressuring congregants to give offerings.

Adegboyega, founder of Salvation Preachers Anointed Church (SPAC Nation), described the characterization as disrespectful and unfair, stressing that churches often contribute more to society than artistes and their community impact deserves recognition.

Speaking from the pulpit during a church service, the pastor argued that comedians often target churches when fresh material is scarce, calling such jokes “lazy.”

He warned that the church was “under attack” and confirmed that Christian leaders were ready to defend it.

Adeboyega emphasized that the church has historically supported communities through significant personal sacrifices, noting that even pastors with limited financial resources often give more than well-known artists because their contributions come from limited resources.

He also pointed out that many celebrities benefit from the support of the church and that making jokes about pastors is misleading and unfair.

A Drewsky skit released a few days ago depicted the pastor asking for luxury items from his congregation, but Adeboyega believes the depiction is inaccurate.

The pastor emphasized that the church’s efforts in providing housing, food and other forms of support should not be ignored for the sake of entertainment.

    In his words:

“When these fat guys can’t afford a joke, they go to church. Like bro, like you can imagine, you know? Church is not funny, not funny anyway. I don’t like it. At the end of the day, we all fell out of the church system. Some of your famous actors grew up on these offerings. So, as leaders and pastors, we have the right to Orthodoxy. No joke. Churches give more than that to their communities. “The meanest pastor is still a better giver than the greatest rapper because you know what you do and you know how much you sacrifice for your community, and the fact that we don’t know about other pastors doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist, so, that’s not a joke and we’re going to attack that. No bro I don’t see anything that comedians do to the church don’t be offended I like that you know how much you know.

@OpeyemiOla09: “Druski no kuku lie, most of them are comedians and clowns! There is no difference between them and politicians”

@ChigozieOffical: “My problem is not with these super pastors but with their congregations who often leave their bran cells at home when they come to church”

@Amy_beke: “Imagine a priest cheating on someone’s body and why he wears a hat in church…this skit was really painful”

@AjMachalaa: “They just can’t hide their sh@me. They are the first to throw stones and pretend they are fighting for the body of Christ.”

@DamiTheOG_: “Attention to those who were offended by this skit. It says more about them than it does about Drusky. Druskey did a skit and Toby decided to make fun of fat people. Someone must be really angry.”

@1nefortunate: “Yes, those affected will always speak up. Yoruba people will say, ‘oko oro ni, eni ba lo mo’ Pastor Tobi is a money worshipper, the evidence is everywhere. He should keep quiet and focus on his business”

@ChubiDave: “Pastor Toby was the first person I thought of when I saw the Druski kit. You are only telling this skit because you are triggered, why is that?”
