    • The Destiny Boy sisters have denied accusations that their mother cursed the late singer, saying the viral video only showed a family divide.
    • She condemned malicious speculation on social media, while police confirmed a suspect had been arrested as investigations continued.

The sister of late Afrobeat singer Destiny Boy has denied claims that their mother, Saidat Adeshina, cursed him before his death, calling the allegation false and malicious.

After the singer’s death, an old video resurfaced online in which Saidat can be seen angrily berating her son during a family disagreement, sparking outrage and claims she caused his death by swearing.

Destiny Boy’s sister has defended their mother in a viral video, insisting the footage only shows a heated argument between mother and son. She denied claims of curses, money rituals or intentional harm and asked critics if it was possible for a mother to kill her own child.

She accused bloggers and TikTokers of promoting harmful rhetoric and urged the public to stop spreading unsubstantiated claims.

Meanwhile, the Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a suspect in connection with the death of “Destiny Boy” as investigations continue.

“My mother did not kill my brother. Although they had conflicts and she spoke out of anger, it is impossible for a mother to kill her son.”

In other news… Afrobeat star Oxlade has revealed that he doesn’t smoke or use hard drugs and attributes his lifestyle choices to his upbringing and religious background. He revealed the news during an interview with gospel singer Tim Godfrey.

The Ku Lo Sa hitmaker said he comes from a devout Christian and musical family and began his musical journey in a church choir. According to him, this foundation shaped his values, personality and overall approach to music.

“I don’t smoke. I don’t do drugs. I am the choir coordinator for every age group; children’s church, youth church, youth choir and mass choir.

“I’ve been in choir my whole life. I grew up in a family that loved music. My grandmother was a deaconess and a great singer. My grandfather had been a multi-instrumentalist.

“My mom dances and sings. I have a pastor in the family. My gospel music writing is actually the best. Gospel music is the best music,” he said.

The singer added, “No matter which way you look at me, you should know that God has blessed me just as He has blessed you. If God doesn’t want your debut album to tour 40 cities, then as long as God ordains these steps and actions, I have nothing to worry about.”
