    • Florence Ajimobi has declared that the APC is ready to fight a tough battle against the Peoples Democratic Party led by Governor Seyi Makinde in the 2027 Oyo governorship election, claiming federal support and strong financial support for the campaign.

Florence Ajimobi, the widow of former Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi, has announced that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is gearing up for a fierce political battle ahead of the 2027 Oyo State governorship election.

Ajimobi, who spoke at a recent political rally, said the APC was determined to wrest Oyo State from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Governor Seyi Makinde. She described the upcoming election as a “war” and stressed that her party was fully mobilized and ready for head-to-head competition.

According to her, APC enjoys strong support from the federal government and has the financial resources to challenge the dominance of the People’s Democratic Party in the state. She expressed confidence that these strengths will play an important role in the party’s strategy as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.

Ajimobi accused the Peoples Democratic Party-led government of poor performance and argued that Oyo State deserves better leadership. She urged APC members and supporters to remain united, focused and committed to regaining power in the next election cycle.

Her comments have since sparked a political reaction, with many interpreting the statement as an early sign of rising political tensions ahead of Oyo State’s 2027 governorship race.

“We will go to war in 2027, Oyo Guber, we have federal support and funding” – Florence Ajimobi declares to go head-to-head with Governor Seyi Makinde’s Peoples Democratic Party.
