Kingsley Ikenna, the father of Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey, has made an emotional public appeal for Nigerians to help intervene so that he can see his children again.
In his plea, Ikenna acknowledged that he may have wronged his wife in the past and asked for her forgiveness, saying: “Please, I beg Nigerians to help me. I call on everyone to come to my aid. Wherever I have hurt my wife, I sincerely ask her to forgive me. I am human and not perfect.”
Speaking of the pain of being separated from his children, he added: “All I want is to be close to my children. They are my flesh and blood and not being able to see them is very painful for me.”
He further revealed that he has been suffering from the situation in silence, saying: “I’ve been suffering this pain in silence.”
Ikenna also made a direct appeal to his wife and children, urging them to forgive him and allow reconciliation. “I call on my wife and children to find it in their hearts to forgive me. I ask Nigerians to help intercede for me so that I can be reunited with my children. I have indeed gone through a lot in silence.” he said.
