    • A Nigerian physics graduate with a third class degree from Ahmadu Bello University has landed an unexpected opportunity in the UK.
    • The graduate’s story went viral on X, sparking widespread congratulations and excitement among social media users.

A young Nigerian graduate has attracted attention on social media after receiving an unexpected opportunity in the UK despite receiving a third class degree in physics from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

The graduate who goes by the name “X” @SafwanIdris shared a photo of proudly holding his BSc (Education) certificate and wrote: “Today, I received the original Bachelor of Science (Education) Certificate from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Third Class Graduate✅.” His tweet went viral, inspiring and surprising many users.

Soon after, an X user @qroniqls told him about an opportunity open to physics and linguistics graduates in the UK and asked if he would be interested in relocating. The prospect of moving abroad sparked excitement among followers, many of whom offered congratulations and encouragement.

Social media reaction was mixed but mostly positive. Monisola Eniola commented: “This is why A2J is speaking out and I’m already happy for this guy.”

Another user jokingly declared: “Sir he has to relocate… I say this as his sister. He has no choice.”

Others expressed curiosity about the qualifications, with one asking: “Are only those who get third class eligible?”

In other news… Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi is mourning the tragic death of his father, who was reportedly killed in a horrific car accident, a development that has plunged Nigerian football fans and the sporting world into deep sorrow.

The heartbreaking news broke on Tuesday, prompting an outpouring of condolences from fans, teammates and football stakeholders in Nigeria and beyond.

Ndidi has long been regarded as one of Nigeria’s most disciplined and consistent footballers and is said to be shocked by the sudden defeat.

While details about the accident remain limited, reports indicate it was fatal and occurred in Nigeria. Ndidi’s club and supporters have since rallied around him to express sympathy and support at what is clearly a difficult time for the midfielder and his family.
