A woman claiming to be social media celebrity Kelu’s biological mother has publicly accused him of neglect and abandonment, claiming he failed to support her despite his growing fame.
In a touching video currently circulating online, the woman said she was left in the village and had not seen Colu for a long time.
She spoke in a mixture of English and Pidgin, expressing deep anguish that her son would not remember her after the recognition.
The woman spoke of the hardships she went through during her pregnancy and postpartum period, explaining that she struggled to raise Kolu in difficult conditions. According to her, she resisted pressure from those who advised her to give up her child, insisting that she believed he was destined for greatness.
She said her sacrifice made his alleged neglect all the more painful because she expected to be cared for after he became successful. In the viral video, she made an emotional appeal to Kelu, questioning why she was still left alone in the village despite everything she went through to raise Kelu.
She said… “I am Kolu’s mother. Until now, I have never seen my son. I suffered for 9 months to be pregnant with you. You abandoned me to the village during the 9 months I was pregnant with you. People said I should abandon you, I will not abandon you because I know you said you are a blessed child. I will not take you away because you will bless me. Kolu, you forgot that I was in the village, is that okay?”
