    • Pastor Chris Okafor condemns cyberbullying in Nigeria, calling for stricter online regulation and accountability of bloggers spreading false stories, citing personal allegations against him
    • The pastor urged the National Assembly to enact legislation to regulate cyberspace and called on the cyber police to track down violators.

Senior Pastor of Liberation Hill and Miracle Ministries, Chris Okafor, has condemned cyberbullying and called for stricter regulation of cyberspace in Nigeria.

At a news conference in Lagos on Thursday, Okafor criticized bloggers and online influencers, accusing them of spreading false stories without substantiating them or giving him a chance to respond.

“Sadly, we often condone most so-called influencers to spin mythical lies to attract blog traffic. Many Nigerians have suffered and are still suffering from the lies of bloggers and most of the time, they get away with it after damaging the image of their targets,” he said.

Okafor referred to the allegations leveled against him by Nollywood actress Doris Ogala in November 2025, which included accusations of a long-term affair, murder and having a head buried on his altar. He stressed that most bloggers failed to verify the allegations before publishing them.

He also shared a personal experience, explaining that his ex-wife and daughter had demanded £80 million from a blogger for tuition fees and living expenses abroad, despite a divorce in 2014 that granted him custody of their children.

“If, as a pastor, I survive these lies, what happens to the average Nigerian? In the 55 years of my existence on this earth, I have never been arrested for any crime or violation of law. It is sad that people can reach such a level of destruction,” Okafor added.

The pastor urged the National Assembly to enact legislation to regulate cyberspace and called on the cyber police to track down violators. He assured Nigerians that truth will prevail in the end and those spreading false information will not go unpunished.
