Kim Kardashian looked surprised when her daughter North West asked her followers for money during a recent Instagram Live.
The 45-year-old reality star attended the livestream with her 12-year-old daughter but was not seen in a video that quickly went viral on social media.
North seemed disappointed, as if she expected her mom to appear on screen so her viewers could send virtual gifts.
The Daily Mail has contacted a representative for Kardashian for comment.
King, who has reportedly been “enjoying a secret romance” with British racing driver Lewis Hamilton in recent weeks, chose not to show her face, instead raising a hand behind North while wagging her fingers to indicate her presence.
“You should show your face because… I don’t know,” North said angrily.
“I want some money!” she added, drawing out the last word and grinning, showing the black grills she wore over her teeth.
“What?!” Kim shot back in shock. “No, we don’t ask no, no, no.”
“OK!” North replied, clearly frustrated.
After berating her eldest daughter, whom she shares with ex-husband Kanye West, Kim relented, asking: “What do you mean?”
“Because, TikTok Live, like,” North began to explain, but Kim interrupted and corrected her: “It’s not TikTok Live, it’s Instagram.”
“So you were a little confused for a moment,” King said in a softer voice, and North repeated, “I know, I know.”
Kim then admitted with a smile, “I thought you were asking me for something.”
North’s brief confusion over which social media platform he was using was understandable, as both Instagram and TikTok have developed similar live-streaming features over the years.
