Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s reaction to his wife Tamunominni Makinde’s public display of love at a recent event has sparked online discussions.
The couple attended a dinner and awards night held on Wednesday, February 5, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Oyo State. In a video circulating on social media, Tamunominni leaned in to kiss the Governor, but the Governor appeared to reject the move and he appeared to back off.
To lighten the moment, his wife laughed it off while other guests in the background looked amused.
The video sparked mixed reactions online. Some criticized the governor’s response, while others defended him. One user commented, “He’s probably having a lot of mood swings,” while another wrote, “OMG why? I’m going to hug her. This is scary.”
It has also been reported that a woman is seeking a divorce after discovering that her husband, who never helped with housework, was cooking for a female colleague.
The story, shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user @Row_Haastrup, has since gone viral, sparking widespread debate about marriage, effort, and emotional neglect.
The post stated that throughout the marriage, the husband never participated in cooking, cleaning, laundry or taking care of the children. The wife reportedly accepted this reality, attributing it to his upbringing or personality, and took on the burden of running the household on her own.
While the man was cooking in the kitchen, things took an unexpected turn. At first, the wife was excited, believing that her husband had finally decided to contribute to the family.
However, her excitement quickly turned to disappointment when she discovered that the meal was not for her family, but for a female colleague who was reportedly ill.
The revelation allegedly left the woman hurt, embarrassed and emotionally marginalized, prompting her to consider ending her marriage.
The post read: “This woman is divorcing her husband for reasons that really piss me off…
The husband does nothing at home, it’s more like the woman does all the cleaning, laundry, cooking and taking care of the children.
The wife thought maybe it was because he couldn’t do it and he wasn’t raised like this…
This is her comfort.
However, one day the husband walked into the kitchen and started cooking. Women are even happy about their husband’s change. Only for the husband to pack food and take it out of the house. When he was asked whose food the food belonged to, he said it was for his female colleague who was not feeling well.
This angered the lady and she was severely reprimanded.
The woman feels that if he cannot cook for his wife and family and do anything at home, but can cook for his female friends at work without hesitation, then the marriage is not worth it.
Do you agree with her?
If I saw that guy, I would throw him to the ground first and give his brain a rest, if he still had a brain…”
