The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, said it has lifted the stay-at-home order in the southeastern region. The group said in a video circulating on social media that the cancellation was at the behest of its detained leader Nnamdi Kanu.
According to IPOB, Kanu directed the leadership to suspend operations in the interest of peace and the resumption of normal economic activities in the region.
The group said the move was aimed at easing hardship for residents and allowing businesses, schools and other daily activities to proceed without disruption.
