    • A young widow broke down during a protest at the National Assembly in Abuja as she revealed that kidnappers killed her husband after collecting ransom just a year after their marriage.
    • Her story moved protesters and social media users alike.

A young widow broke down in tears during the ongoing Occupy National Assembly protest in Abuja as she narrated the heartbreaking story of her husband being killed by kidnappers just a year after their marriage.

The visibly emotional woman told protesters that her husband had been kidnapped and later killed, despite her family paying the ransom demanded by the kidnappers. Her account drew sympathy from other demonstrators, many of whom shed tears at her pain.

“My husband was kidnapped and they killed him after collecting ransom, just a year after we got married,” She cried, lamenting how insecurity had devastated her family and countless others across the country.

Her emotional testimony added a human dimension to the protests, which were organized to demand electoral reform, improved governance and accountability.

“My husband was kidnapped and they killed him after collecting ransom a year after our marriage.” 💔😥

If people tell you their stories of how Nigeria has failed them, you will know why they feel real bitterness towards the establishment…
