    • Family, friends and fans mourned the death of 26-year-old singer Nanyah after she was bitten by a snake at a memorial service in Abuja.
    • One TikTok attendee described the event as a touching reminder to cherish life.

Friends, family and fans gathered at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja to mourn the untimely death of young singer Ifunanya Nwangene popularly known as Nanyah. On January 31, 2026, the 26-year-old woman died after being bitten by a snake at her residence.

A man who attended the memorial, identified as @paulfortune1 on TikTok, shared a video capturing an emotional moment from the memorial. He described the gathering as a powerful reminder of the unpredictability of life, writing in the post:

“Today is a sad time as friends and family gather to say goodbye to @Nanyah. A reminder that life can happen, so make the most of every opportunity you have. Love, live and grow.”

The video quickly went viral, with viewers sharing their thoughts and appreciating the heartfelt tributes. Nanya’s sudden death has left a deep void in the music industry and her fans.

In other news… Queen Dami, ex-wife of the late Alaafin of Oyo, has filed a petition against her ex-boyfriend, singer Portable, accusing him of cyber bullying, blackmail and related offences.

Prior to this, Portable publicly claimed in a live video that he and Dami had reconciled, claiming that he had been spending nights with her and providing for her. He questioned why she publicly denied their relationship.

In response, Dami took to her Instagram page to clarify the situation. She shared a screenshot of the petition against Portable, stressing that he is her ex and any suggestion that they dated or engaged in sexual activity was false.

She further stated that she has moved on with her life and warned Portable to stop spreading false and salacious stories about her, calling such behavior disrespectful, harmful and unacceptable.

    “For the record…

I want to address some issues clearly and openly.

Portable is my ex and we are not in a relationship. Any suggestion that we were dating or that I was visiting him for sex is completely false. I want nothing to do with him and move on with my life.

Spreading false and salacious stories about me is disrespectful, harmful and unacceptable. I demand that he stop immediately and that people stop entertaining or sharing these lies as we have taken legal action.

Thank you to everyone who continues to respect me and support my truth. Portable devices disappeared from my life again for a long time! ! ! “.
