    • Afrobeat star Davido’s mother, Sofia Momodu, has shared her thoughts following the custody dispute.
    • Davido and Sofia are embroiled in a legal dispute over their daughter Imad.
    • Davido announced that he was withdrawing the custody case and gave reasons for the decision.

Sophia Momodu, mother of Afrobeat star Davido (real name David Adeleke), has shared her thoughts following the end of her custody battle with the singer.

The two had been locked in a legal battle over the care of their daughter Imad until Davido announced he was withdrawing the case, explaining why he had done so.

In a recent social media post, Sofia danced with joy while sharing Bible verses, hinting at her sense of victory. She spoke of her covenant with God, emphasizing that God has consistently fulfilled His promises in her life.

Her post also read “Always Trust in God” and the word “Happiness” in bold next to it, reflecting her celebratory mood. She also quoted Psalm 68:5: “God is a father to the fatherless and a judge of widows in his sanctuary.”

The post sparked mixed reactions from fans. Some praised Sofia for speaking her mind and questioned why she faced criticism, while others felt Davido should be equally involved in his daughter Imade’s life.

@hottestfootballscoops: “She is @davido’s biggest regret. This is painful. Imagine planning with your attorney to tell the judge that Davido was negligent in the death of his child. Am I a toddler? Does it matter? You want to piss him off.”

@mrmaomi: “Emotional blackmail. She is even lucky that Davido is a loving father to the naija environment. One cannot ignore. Nothing will happen.”

@chinenyenwigwe: “She’s lucky he even cares. Some men will ignore you and your pidgeon and focus on other kids.”

@estomempire: “I love that David didn’t win the case. It’s the only thing that makes her happy. The holiday visit was nice. She’s a girl and David has a lot of rude people around him.”

@lala.otibiri: “Omo to me she was consoling herself because she just wanted David to marry her, working with David’s favorite pijin hug since her wish didn’t come true.”
