Police said that two parents of Evansville were detained because their children were admitted to the hospital on Saturday, January 25, but they had taken her in the future and left her in Indiana for several hours.
The authorities said that the child was allegedly healthy and went to the hospital by himself. It was said that the child bit her in a physical conflict with her mother Amanda Osmont.
They said that the child was taken to the hospital for a mental health assessment.
A few hours later, the hospital staff said that they tried to contact Osmont and his stepfather Jeffrey, but did not get a response.
The hospital staff said that they finally contacted Osmont at about 10 pm. It is said that the conversation was “very excited” and there was a dispute on who to pick up the children.
It is said that Osmont told the staff that “I will not handle this tonight” and then hung up the phone.
Police said they contacted them in Osmont and Xieda’s residence. Osmond claimed that the hospital staff first notified her that her daughter could be discharged at 2:52 am, but she was said to have no evidence.
It is said that their parents were drunk while their children were in the hospital.
Both Osmont and Xie Da were arrested and accused of ignoring their families. They were locked in Van Detburg County Prison.
