Mr. Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance and Minister of Economic Coordinating, announced the establishment of the implementation committee of accelerated stability and Development Plan (ASAP), which aims to revitalize the key departments of the economy.
ASAP aims to promote the sustainable development of eight prior economic departments such as agriculture, energy and health, aims to solve key challenges that affect the reform of the federal government, and stimulate the development of various economic departments.
Edn made a speech during the first meeting of the ASAP Implementation Committee in Abuja on Monday. He said that this marks an important milestone that Nigeria is committed to responding to key economic challenges and promoting the sustainable development of key departments.
Mohammed Manga, director of the Ministry of Finance and Public Relations, quoted the minister in a statement that this milestone was an important part of President Bora Tinubu’s reform agenda. Promote the sustainable development of eight priority departments in the country.
In the opening speech, Edun emphasized the collaboration nature of the project and informed the committee that they will work closely with the technical experts of various government agencies to establish a clear milestone and ensure the effective implementation of ASAP.
He expressed his determination to solve key issues such as agricultural productivity, and announced the coordination of the Federal Ministry of Finance, the Nigerian Central Bank (CBN), the Federal Agriculture and Food Safety (FMAFS), and the African Development Bank (AFDB) Cooperation to ensure timely providing farmers with fertilizers and other key investment products.
The meeting brought together major government officials, including Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari; Budget and Economic Planning Minister and Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu; Dr. Muhammad Ali Pat, Minister of Health and Social Welfare; Chief of Yodrab, Oil Resources (Natural Gas) State Minister Ekperikpe Ex, and Tonim Yakubu, director of the federal budget office.
“With the advancement of the ASAP Implementation Committee, it will focus on promoting the progress of each of the determined priority areas to ensure that the goal of the plan is achieved in accurate and responsible ways.
“With the launch of the ASAP Implementation Committee, Nigeria will witness the era of economic growth and development.
“Under the leadership of Lord Edon, the committee will work unremitting efforts to ensure the effective implementation of the plan, solve key problems, and promote cooperation between government agencies and stakeholders.
The statement wrote: “With the progress of the committee in each priority area, Nigeria can expect a more bright economic future, which is characterized by precise, accountability and sustainable development.”
