    NLC announced on February 4th to protest the rate hikes of telecommunications tariffs across the country

    After telecommunications operators initially demanded a 100 % speed, the federal government approved 50 % of the growth.

    Joe Ajaero, president of NLC, described this growth as “it is not sensitive and unreasonable for the direct attacks on Nigerian workers and ordinary people, and they have borne due to increasing economic difficulties.”

    AJAERO added: “After extensive discussion, the following resolutions have been reached: NAC-SSISES completely rejected 50 % of telecommunications tariffs to raise interest rates, which is too harsh for citizens.

    “Therefore, it strongly condemns the decision to approve the increase in the Nigerian Communications Commission.” He further pointed out that the trade union will hold a national protest on February 4 to oppose the government’s decision.

    Ajaero instructed all NLC branches to start mobilization before protest.

    He asked for a 50 % tariffs to raise interest rates immediately, calling on the federal government to talk to the stakeholders.

    NLC condemn the rise in gasoline prices.

    The Nigerian Labor Conference (NLC) strongly criticized the recent rise in gasoline prices, describing it as a height of not sensitive to the masses.

    Professor Theophilus NDubuaku, vice chairman of NLC, believes that rising prices will exacerbate the grain crisis, inflation and Nalan’s depreciation.
