5,000 repentance Boko Holy Land fighters reunite with family? FG

The National Anti -Terrorism Center of the National Security Consultant Office said that at least 5,000 repentance Boko Holy Land fighters were reunited with their families.

It said that after six months of Deradication plan, none of the former combatants returned to the battlefield.

AMB. The person in charge of prevention and opposition to Violence Extremeism (PCVE), Mauro Musa Abbas, said this at the second day of the Governor of the Chad Basin Governor Forum.

She said that the former Boco Holy Land Warrior (called a safe corridor operation, restoring and returning to social plan) has re -integrated more than 5,000 repentance Boko Holy Land to the society.

She said: “Under the safe corridor plan, we have provided a response to Boko Haram’s more than 5,000 former combatants and reunited with their families.”

“They use the skills obtained in the six -month DeradicalIs of the camp to maintain their own skills to maintain themselves in the community.

“Our collaborators from the National Positioning Agency (NOA) are within the scope of traditions and religious leaders in 774 local governments and communities in Nigeria. They have a monitoring mechanism to monitor this mechanism and improve their progress after the community. “

The “Borno model” is a strategy of state -owned leadership to re -integrate an individual like a Boko Haram, and supplements the federal government’s efforts to promote the country’s peace.

“We always say that the ‘Borno model’ is a necessary model, but we have achieved great success in the model because many repentance fighters have reunited with their families.”

However, she urged the governor and stakeholders in Lake Chad to coordinate their strategy to ensure that they work at the same level.
