
The District 2 Police Command in Lagos State arrested Opara MacDonald, a hotel operator who alleged illegal physical knowledge of a teenage boy.
Regional Public Relations Officer (ZPRO) CSP UMMAL AYUBA marched the suspect at Onikan Command Headquarters.
“The District 2 commander of the Nigerian Police Force marched here an Opara MacDonald (male), Managing Director and CEO of Luwen Empire Hotel and Suites in Ejigbo, Lagos , He accused illegal knowledge of minors, a bill that violated the natural order,” Ayuba said.
“This development comes after a petition dated 23 January 2025 and was submitted to an Edozie Christian (Male) in Lagos, an assistant inspector general of Edozie Christian (Lagos) in Lagos. The eldest son Chigozie Edozie (Male).
“The petition states that the suspect Opara MacDonald had committed illegal sexual acts with a minor.
“After receiving the petition, the Assistant Inspector General of Police assigned CSP UBA Bangajiya Adams to conduct a cautious investigation into the matter.
“The victim was initially afraid of speaking out because of the threat from the suspect and he confided to his mother.
“He said Opara MacDonald warned him that disclosure of the incident would result in him losing his mind.”
“Don’t worry, the victim gave a detailed description of how the suspect took him from the hotel to the residence No. 4B in Akowonjo-egbeda, Lagos, where he was forcibly subjected to illegal sexual acts.
“After the incident, the suspect allegedly provided the victim with a bottle of Lucozade Boost and 5,000 Naira (N5,000.00 N5,000.00) cash amounted to the amount of cash of the victim.
“After this revelation, the victim’s parents reported the matter to the Isheri-Osun Police Department.”
“The suspect was guilty of an investigation but did not cooperate with law enforcement, and instead refused to respect the police invitation, he tried to manipulate the process. Looking to evade justice, he upgraded the matter to the headquarters of the 2nd Command, and he was subsequently arrested. .
“To determine the authenticity of the claim, the victim underwent medical examination at Mirabel Medical Center. In addition, close friends of the victim attended the hotel on the day of the incident, confirming the allegations.
“The friend confirmed that the suspect had committed illegal acts with the victim and tried similar acts he resisted.
“He further introduced the telephone conversations, chat history and video evidence of victims filmed in the suspect’s residence through the suspect’s own phone number.
“Initially, the suspect denied knowing the victim. However, when faced with the evidence, he admitted to bringing Chigozie Edozie to his residence.
“The suspects allegedly should reveal that the incident threatens the victim to psychological harm, and since the confession, the victim has shown signs of mental distress.”
The investigation also unprofessional conduct of the initial Investigative Police Officer (IPO), who removed the statements of the principal witness from the case file before transferring it to the 2nd order headquarters.
“The IPO has since been detained and is undergoing disciplinary proceedings.
“In contrast to some media reports, the medical reports at Mirabel Medical Center are still real and have not been tampered with anyway,” she added.
According to her, the victim is currently receiving medical services and after the investigation is completed, the suspect will be formally prosecuted in court.
She said the suspect also attracted five other teenagers to his hotel, where he asked them for them and warned the boys that they would die if they disclosed the incident to anyone.
Mrs. AIG Fayoade urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant, monitor their children’s activities closely and provide guidance to protect them from harmful effects, Mrs. Ayuba said.
Meanwhile, the suspect denied having ever been sodomized victims or any other boys while talking to reporters.
He also insisted that only judges can be convicted of suspected crimes.
“I never did this unless the judge convicted me,” he said.
The hotelier also accused his competitors of the region for their plight, while also admitting to providing the N5000 to the victim, which he claimed was for swimming and internet gaming.
