A mother and her child were kided in a public conflict in the ODU election ward in the Maraba Udege development area of the Nasarawa local government area!
According to Punch, a long-standing chief dispute escalated Saturday after a disagreement between warring communities, which resulted in the displacement of many residents in many areas and the evacuation of many homes.
The Chiefs’ quarrel involves the far and far Angwan Kasa, both in the Udege Development area of Nasarawa LGA.
Nasarawa Governor Abdullahi Sule visited the region on Wednesday in a bid to have a lasting solution to the situation.
It is understood that Suller banned competing families in the ODU and Embu communities in the area from participating in a chief quarrel that began three years ago three years ago without any success.
The governor, who made a decision shortly after assessing the level of damage caused by the community, explained that the move was a pavement to the appointment of executives who would work to peacefully resolve conflicts in the region
Responding to the number of houses and lives killed during the conflict, Sulai said: “No, we cannot determine the number of houses burned in the crisis, and that’s what the committee I brought to do. But you’re with me at ODU, We were told that a child and a woman died in the process and I was able to talk to my father and husband there too. So, earlier, there were some murders, but now, I can’t say exactly what it is
“As a government, we have to decide for the peace of the land. We cannot let things go. We believe that, in the case of the government, neither competing homes will be recognized as Mararaba, which controls the Udege development.
“We will appoint an administrator in that particular area and they will assist the government in coming up with the final solution,” he said.
He said that while the warring factions were called on to put on swords and give peace a chance, especially in Udeji’s current development, mining activities began to center, his government made the decision based on various reports submitted by him to end confusion.
However, he called on stakeholders to see Malalaba as belonging to the AFO countries rather than mind their differences.
“According to history, Malaraba has been under the ODU. Mararaba has developed so much more than ODU that it should be independent or should have a different position.
“Today, I decided to visit all three places to talk to people and calm them down. That’s exactly the whole essence of being here so that the government knows what to do,” he added.
