Popular Anambra local doctor Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki has been detained as authorities investigated the authenticity of his alleged monetary ritual practices for clients.
In videos circulating online, local doctors strongly denied the execution of the “Okeite” ceremony, citing new laws banning such activities at Anambra State.
During the interrogation, a government official can be heard insisting that Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki accompanied them to his shrine to prove the validity of the ritual he claimed to be performing.
The incident sparked widespread discussion of the crackdown on certain traditional practices and the state’s efforts to enforce the law. He was detained after accusing him of preparing for kidnappers disguised as Yahoo boys and intimidating the country’s kidnappers.
