
Nigerian guitarist Ifiok Effanga (commonly known as Fiokee) mourns his sister, Ememe Effang, who is allegedly abusive.
In an Instagram post on Saturday, February 7, 2025, Fiokee revealed that he was not aware that his sister had been abused by her partner for a long time.
He advises women who abuse relationships to speak out before it’s too late.
“My heart was broken. I can’t believe I was writing this, but my sister was gone. She was taken away by someone who claimed to love her. I don’t know she suffered in silence. She went from It’s too late to not talk about this abuse,” he wrote.
“If you are in an abusive relationship, beg you – talk. I know it’s not easy. I know fear will keep you quiet. But silence can be fatal. Some people care, and someone will help you. Please don’t wait for It was too late.
“Justice will take the itinerary, but no punishment will bring my sister back. If this message can even save a life, then her death will not be futile.
“Rest in peace, my love. I will miss you forever.”
