
A man, his wife and his daughter were kidnapped by suspected bandits who invaded the Dogon Roeh community on Monday, February 10 in the Vasa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Leadership reports that the incident occurred around 11 a.m. when residents in the area are doing normal activities. The area’s youth leader Shapi’i Sambo confirmed the incident, saying the gunmen arrived in the community and began shooting occasionally to scare community members before kidnapping the victims.
Sambo also said security personnel and Vigilante members had moved into the bushes to rescue the victims.
“When the gunmen arrived in the community, people were doing normal activities. The gunmen began shooting occasionally to disperse the residents. Many people fled to safety. Unfortunately, a man, wife and children were kidnapped. The armed personnel were equipped with exquisite weapons.” He said
He added that two injured people had been taken to Dogo Ruwa’s hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, Plateau State Police spokesman DSP Alabo Alfred has not commented on the incident.
