Like Trump, Keir Starmer began mass arrests and deportations of illegal immigrants working in the UK.
Nigeria News Nalin British Prime Minister Keir Starmer vowed to take stricter measures to oppose the growing number of illegal foreign workers, the report said.
Since taking office in July 2024, Starmer has begun several immigration reforms, with analysts describing his approach as “stubborn but fair” compared to his predecessor Rishi Sunak and Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch.
However, pressure from the Conservative Party is growing and the influence of British reforms is increasing – advocating stricter immigration controls, which prompted Starmer to take a tougher stance to maintain public support.
“Too many people are able to come to the UK to work illegally. We are ending it.” Starmer tweeted on Monday.
His statement coincides with the announcement by the Ministry of Home Affairs that new immigration attacks will be launched to target illegal workers. The agency also reported record numbers of deportations, with illegal work visits and arrests increasing by about 38% since Labour came to power.
The government reportedly plans to broadcast the footage of the deportation as part of its efforts to address the commitment of illegal immigration.
In November 2024, Starmer criticized the previous Conservatives’ handling of immigration, noting: “They pushed the number of immigrants; we will disappoint them.”
The immigration action for Starmer was a few days after Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch proposed tough measures on immigration.
