Bishop Charles Ighele, director of the Holy Spirit’s Mission, called for a ban on the celebration of Valentine’s Day in Nigeria.
In an interview with the Nigerian News Agency (NAN), Ighele listed illegal S3xual abuse and the promotion of romantic relationships associated with the day.
According to Ighele, Valentine’s Day is a misunderstanding of its original purpose of promoting assistance to needs and humanitarian works. He described the day as a “devil’s deception” and imposed a “universal immoral day” in the world.
Ighele noted that Valentine’s Day celebrations were related to Roman god of love Cupid, which he claimed inspired S3xual feelings and spread sexual entertainment.
He urged authorities to ban the celebrations of the day due to negative effects on young people.
The Bishop stressed the importance of promoting social redemption of values cultures and called on the government, church, schools and families to unite.
He believes that banning Valentine’s Day celebrations will save people from destruction.
“This day is related to a romantic demon called Cupid. This demon is one of the rulers of the darkness of this world found in Ephesians 6 and 12,” he said.
“Cupid is the name of the Romans, the Greek God of Love is called the God of Love.
“The dictionary defines the word pornography as a tendency to arouse sexual desire or excitement.
“The celebrations of the day inspired people’s feelings for people and spread the S3xual entertainment to further institutionalize the S3X,” he said.
