    • The gasoline price at NNPCL’s retail stations has been reduced from N960 to N945 per liter.

    • The price change came into effect on Thursday, February 13 and led to customer turnout and long queues of long queues for NNPC filling stations.

    • Despite the reduction, some consumers believe this is too small to affect their spending and other filling stations.

Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) announced that gasoline prices at its retail stations have been reduced from N960 to N945 per liter.

The new price will take effect on Thursday, February 13, following the company’s instructions.

At Ejigbo’s NNPC filling station, waiters confirmed the price changes and pointed to the increase in customer turnout and long queues.

“We received instructions this morning (Thursday) to lower the price from N960 to N945. You can already see the level of patronage and long queues,” a gasoline waiter at the station disclosed.

However, some consumers believe that the reduction is too small to affect their spending.

“Although the gasoline price has been reduced, it has no effect on my fare because the reduction is too small to adjust,” said Kunle Ademola, a commercial driver at the station.

No changes have been made at other gas stations including Ardova, Mobil and Petrocam. Ardova continues to be sold at N970 per liter, while Mobil and Petrocam are N960 and N970 n970, respectively.

Recent price changes are linked to global energy trends and lower crude oil prices.

Since the cancellation of fuel subsidies, gasoline prices have fluctuated, nearly 1,000 n1,000 per liter.

When President Bola Ahmed Tinubu took office on May 29, 2023, the product sold for N198 per liter.
