Sealed Ogun filling station for small amounts of fuel

The Ogun State office of the Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Agency (NMDPRA) launched a crackdown at the fuel station and found insufficient fuel to customers.

Several stations in the Sagamu area were sealed as part of the authorities’ efforts to curb the state’s rapid practice.

NMDPRA State Coordinator Akinyemi Atilola, who led the law enforcement team during the surveillance operations of Abeokuta and Sagamu, emphasized that the operation is a necessary measure to protect consumers and ensure they get value. He warned fuel station owners not to engage in illegal practices and pointed out that those who are considered guilty will face severe penalties.

Atilola assured the public that regulators remain committed to protecting consumer rights through best practices. “We need to make sure the amount of fuel is distributed is accurate so that customers can get what they pay. We will continue to monitor these sites and act on anyone who damages quality and quantity,” he said.

He further stressed that fuel stations would face serious sanctions for inadequate crimes and noted that consumers do not have to pay a height of N980 per liter and are still experiencing shortages.
