    200% data tariff rate hike after MTN reversal

    • The reversal was disclosed in a statement through MTN’s official X account on Thursday.

    • The decision comes Tuesday with MTN implementing a limited tariff rate hike in 15G data bundled with other data plans.

    The company revealed this in a statement through its official X account on Thursday.

    Recall that Tuesday, MTN started implementing 200% tariffs on the 15G data bundle along with other data plans.

    However, the company has now abused the decision, reversing the tariff rate hike.

    The reversal could be a response to opposition and criticism of the tariff rate hike announcement.

    However, MTN does not provide further explanation for the reversal in its statement.

    NCC approves MTN disconnect companies that provide INT’L InterConnect services

    The Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) has authorized Nigeria MTN Nigeria to leave the network of Exchange Telecom Co., Ltd. due to the failure to resolve interconnection fees.

    Reuben Muoka, NCC’s director of public affairs, disclosed the development in a public notice issued Friday.
