Former President Muhammadu Buhari expresses grief over the death of Pa Ayo Adebanjo, a senior nationalist and elder politician.
Buhari described Adebanjo’s death as a huge loss to the country in a statement issued by his spokesman Garba Shehu.
“The late chief Adebanjo is one of the rare politicians who span the world of legal profession, political and socio-cultural activism,” Statement reading.
Buhari prays for his family, admirers and the people of Ogun State to the soul and strength of Adebanjo to bear the loss.
Naija News Earlier reports said the PA Adebanjo family confirmed his peaceful death at the age of 94 at the Lekki residence in Lagos.
The news was signed by his children Ayotunde Atteh (Née Ayo-Adibanjo), Madame Adeola Azeez (Née Ayo-Adibanjo) and Obafemi Ayo-Adibanjo.
According to family members, consultations are being conducted with friends, colleagues and interest groups to plan a suitable funeral.
Details will be announced soon and a condolence book will be opened at his residence in Isanya Ogbo in Lagos and Ogun State.
Pa Ayodele Adebanjo is the former organization secretary of the Action Group and an outstanding figure in Afenifere, his wife, Chief Christy Ayo-Adebanjo, 94, and children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
